Ray Romano has recently discussed the possibility of a reboot for Everybody Loves Raymond.
When asked about the potential for a reboot, Romano expressed that it is no longer feasible due to the unfortunate passing of Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts, who portrayed his parents on the show. Romano emphasized that they were irreplaceable.
"We want to preserve the legacy of the show as it is," he added.
Everybody Loves Raymond, directed by Philip Rosenthal, was a beloved sitcom that aired from 1996 to 2005.
In the storyline, Romano portrayed the character of Raymond Ray Barone, an Italian American sportswriter for Newsday who resides with his wife, Debra Barone (played by Patricia Heaton), and their three children.
The Barone family from Long Island often experiences disruptions in their lives caused by Raymond's parents, Marie Barone (portrayed by Roberts) and Frank Barone (played by Boyle), as well as Raymond's older brother, Robert Barone (portrayed by Brad Garrett), who used to live nearby.
Romano expressed to the host that he and Phil Rosenthal, the show's creator, felt that it was time for the show to conclude at the end of Season 8, despite the rest of the cast being willing to continue.
Additionally, Romano's upcoming project is the Netflix dark comedy series No Good Deed, where he will appear alongside Friends star Lisa Kudrow.
