Buckingham Palace has announced the Christmas plans for King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as the rest of the royal family.
The palace confirmed that the King and Queen will be attending the morning service at Sandringham Church on Christmas Day, and they will be joined by other members of the royal family for the traditional march together on the following Monday.
This year marks a significant event as it is the first time that Charles and Camilla will lead the family in the new royal reign, and it also signifies a return to the annual tradition for the first time since 2019, following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per tradition, the royals will exchange gifts on Christmas Eve, and it is known that they prefer to swap silly presents instead of expensive ones.
On Christmas Day, they will enjoy a traditional Christmas lunch at Sandringham House, consisting of roast turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, bread sauce, and Christmas pudding.
It is expected that the Prince and Princess of Wales will attend the lunch with their three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. Additionally, it was reported in November that Queen Camilla had invited her children and grandchildren to join the lunch for the first time.
After the festive lunch, the family will gather to watch the monarch’s annual televised address, which airs at 3 p.m. in the U.K.
However, it is not expected that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will travel to the UK for Christmas. Instead, they will be enjoying the holiday with their children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, at their Montecito mansion.
